Last spring, Living Spaces launched its third designer collection. Drew + Jonathan comes from the twin siblings behind the HGTV series “Property Brothers” and has quickly become a hit for the home goods store.

“It’s just a really beautiful, contemporary, modern aesthetic,” says product manager Cynthia Diaz. With its sleek dressers and accent chairs that subtly recalls midcentury design, the brothers’ inaugural collection provides a look that’s distinct from the classic style of Nate + Jeremiah and Magnolia Homes’ modern farmhouse vibes.

That’s important at Living Spaces, where shoppers are searching by aesthetic as well as by furniture piece in stores and online. Post-pandemic, Diaz says, customers are now using the Living Spaces site as a research tool before coming into the store, where an overwhelming amount of the store’s sales take place.

“Every single customer is really educating themselves online first,” says Diaz.  After the boom of home renovations during 2020 and 2021, the store has seen a return to its usual best sellers, upholstery and bedrooms, with a few changes.

The store’s custom upholstery program is incredibly popular with customers, as are the customizable sofas. Fortunately, Living Spaces has been able to maintain a four-to-six-week window for delivery time, where supply chain issues have brought about longer waits with other retailers. Right now, the most popular sofas are ones with plush seating.

“Comfort was something so important during the pandemic that has stayed,” says Diaz. “Even though they’re venturing out now, they want to come back and have something that’s really comfortable.”

Meanwhile, shoppers in the dining room department are now eyeing tables with extensions that will allow them to seat anywhere from eight to 12 people. “People are now ready to have big groups in their home and entertain,” says Diaz, and they’re turning to Living Spaces to do that.

Family-owned Daniel’s Home Center is a longtime go-to for appliances and furniture among Orange County residents. On the furniture front, the stock ranges from show-stopping headboards with hand-carved inlays and ornate dining room sets to chic, mid 20th century-inspired sofas and sectionals.

White glove delivery service options are available for an extra fee, but the Express Delivery, ensuring the speediest arrival of your purchase, is only available in select Orange County cities, including Anaheim, Tustin and Orange.
