Christina Henck, owner of Henck Design (HD), founded her interior design company in 2012, and has received over a dozen pieces of national press in less than 10 years.

After running the operation for close a decade, in her 9th year of business, the senior designer and CEO alongside a strong team of project coordinators, and associate designers and logistical experts have officially taken the company national.

HD clients outside of the Greater Philadelphia Area include high-end residential projects in locations such as Denver, Colorado, Wilmington, Delaware, Detroit, Michigan, and Palm City, Florida.

The interior design firm, currently based in the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia, has recently signed 3 additional national projects in areas like Nashville & Franklin, Tennessee as well as Asheville, North Carolina to date.

Palm City, Florida is the location of Henck’s most recently accomplished national interior design work located in a coastal town just North of West Palm Beach and Miami.

The medium sized city is located on the Atlantic Ocean side of the state with much to offer many retirees as well as young families. This home HD updated throughout 2021 and 2022 for a couple who are originally from the Main Line area are embarking on the next chapter of their lives together in the perfect waterfront location. The property is 3500 square feet on a sprawling lot, which overlooks the St. Lucie River in South Florida.

Upon entry, custom etched glass doors stand adjacent to two 96” tall mirrors made of brushed brass and antique mirror greet visitors. Over the entry table, Henck incorporated an original cut steel sculpture procured from Rittenhouse’s annual art festival in Philadelphia years prior.

At the center of this coastal getaway is the great room. “The color story and textural elements for the entire home’s decor hinges on what we did in this double heighted space. The double height ceiling, coral stone fireplace and oversized white upholstery is in keeping with the homes lux, bright feel”, says Henck.

Because of ample space for soft seating Henck said she’s approached this space differently.

“This corner of the home is particularly captivating because of the panoramic views out over the pool and the river. You can see the Roosevelt Bridge connecting residential and commercial neighborhoods for the area, and I felt very resolved that the best use for the space was to furnish it with two large chaise lounges and a small coffee table between them rather than the traditional small side table.”

The clients were in need of not only home decor, but also space planning, paint color selections, and finish materials for the home’s cosmetic updates and interior design planning. The HD team specified and designed custom items that can be seen throughout the space such as window treatments on the living room and dining room walls to enhance the character without blocking any of the Floridian views. Other custom items include the floor to ceiling coral stone fireplace and the custom dry bar. The built-in bar provides extra storage for glassware, detailed cabinetry with wine storage and marble counter top that accommodates counter height seating for five. Reflective materials like antiqued mirror, white cerused oak, and other light wood tones are found throughout the entire first floor, adding a casual, comfortable feel to the space. While every stitch of furniture was kept neutral, Henck layered textures and vintage light blue and green toned Turkish rugs to maintain a transitional quality and specified only the finest of furnishings and home decor for this A-list client’s interior design project.

Henck elevated the look for the kitchen and Den by integrating floor to ceiling white marble ledger stone on each far wall as well as backsplash. The stacked-stone walls and transitional counter material with modern luxury appliances create a balance that integrates the traditional style cream kitchen cabinets via open sightlines into the great room.

With the help of Henck Design, this couple’s 4 bedroom, 3 ½ bath home became a one-of-a-kind space that they’re now able to entertain five to six friends and family who visit from the Philadelphia area for years to come. Any guest who steps foot into the young family’s home will surely be wowed by the informal but stylish aesthetic Henck and her team created for this happy couple.
